Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker, born August 2nd, 1964 is an American actress. After her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she won an Tony Award nomination), Parker gained notoriety for roles in films such as Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996) and The Maker (1997). In addition to her stage and independent film appearances thereafter, Parker received the 2001 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her performance as Catherine Llewellyn in David Auburn's Proof along with other awards. In the NBC television series The West Wing she starred again as Amy Gardner, and was nominated for an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sustained actress in a Drama Series. In her role as Harper Pitt in the HBO miniseries Angels in America, she won an Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. She was also awarded a Primetime Emmy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. In 2006, Parker was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. In 2007, Parker received three nominations for The Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She also received the Golden Globe Award in 2006 for Best Actress in Red (2010) and Red. (2013), as well as Red 2 (2013). Parker returned to Broadway in 2019, and was a part of The Sound Inside. This play won her her second Tony Award for Best Actress. Parker has been contributing content for Esquire magazine since 2007 and published Dear Mr. You in 2015. She was the lead in Roma Guy in the ABC TV miniseries "When We Rise" in 2017. In 2018, she served as an advisor to the political on Billions, a Showtime show.
