Barbara Heck

RUCKLE BARBARA (Heck) b. Bastian Ruckle, father of Margaret Embury and Bastian Ruckle was born in Ballingrane in 1734. She got married Paul Heck 1760 in Ireland. They had 7 kids from which four survived into childhood.

The majority of times subjects have participated in important events and has had unique thoughts or opinions that are recorded in writing. Barbara Heck however left no letters or statements indeed there is no evidence to support such claims since the day of her wedding is secondary. No primary source exists that could be used to trace Barbara Heck's motives or the actions she took during her life. However, she has become a heroic figure in early North American Methodism theology. The biographer must define the myth, explain it and describe the person that is revered in.

Abel Stevens a Methodist Historian wrote about this event in 1866. Barbara Heck is now unquestionably one of the pioneer women in the historical record of New World ecclesiastical women, because of the advancements made by Methodism. Her accomplishments will be largely due to the naming of her precious name made from the story of the major causes with which her legacy remains forever etched in the story of her lives. Barbara Heck's involvement in the beginning of Methodism was a synchronicity that happened to be a lucky one. Her fame can be attributed to the fact that a very effective organization or movement can honor their past in order to keep ties with the past and remain rooted.
